YogaClicks have been on the road again, this time to the Balance Festival! We visited The Old Truman Brewery on Friday 11th May for the UK’s largest celebration of the fitness and wellness industry and were met with a buzzy atmosphere, great energy and good vibes. The Balance Festival is a 3-day celebration of food, fitness and wellness, where you can explore cutting-edge fitness classes, sample delicious healthy foods, learn from leading experts and shop to your heart’s content.
We started the day in the Food Market (of course!)
There were so many amazing food and drink exhibitors, we didn’t know where to start! With so many tasty samples on offer, it was a sensory overload- in a good way. Our personal favourites have to be Boundless Activated Nuts and Seeds, BOL Foods and Kind Snacks. We met some great people with refreshing, innovative and health-friendly ideas, and it was so interesting to see where the future of nutrition and food is heading.
We also went to a talk hosted by Dr Adam Collins, Damian Soong from Form and Max Lowery about Intermittent Fasting. We learnt that we should listen to our bodies and eat when we’re hungry, not because we think it’s time for breakfast. It’s not for everyone, but we’re always interested to hear about the next big thing in the fitness industry.
We got all geared up in The Locker Room…
We stopped to re-fuel with the best Buddha bowl from Redemption Bar – healthy and delicious, what more could you want? Heading into The Locker Room, we were scouting for new brands to add to YogaClicks.store, as well as shopping for ourselves. A lot of the sellers were also industry experts, and they were on hand to advise on the best products for your workout needs. We found some amazing new brands, so watch this space!
The relaxed atmosphere of The Locker Room was soon changed when a class in TRX Studio started, with music pumping and people working out. It was too hardcore for us yogis, but it was so inspiring seeing people push themselves to their limits. Maybe we’ll take part next year!
We also found our friends from Pukka at the festival with their beautiful stand. We got to sample some of their incredible organic teas and supplements, which is much more up our street.
We were blown away by the innovation…
It was so inspiring to see the raw creativity and innovation that was on offer at the festival. We loved Mindful Chef’s food subscription box – fresh ingredients delivered to your door with recipe cards, and all of their recipes are based on innovative use of fresh vegetables.
Another personal favourite of ours was Seedlip drinks, the worlds first distilled non-alcoholic spirit. There was two flavours to try and boy were they tasty! You can still drink cocktails without the horrible hangover the next day – what a great idea!
We were also a sucker for Peppersmith’s tasty mints and gum, which are sugar free, made with no nasty chemicals and keep your teeth healthy, whilst of course keeping your breath fresh. Can your regular mints do that?
We found some of our makers at the event…
On the ground level, we found The Sanctuary, which was an amazingly curated selection of brands including yoga wear, natural skin products and yoga-inspired jewellery. As you can probably imagine, we were in our element. It was by the meditation dome, with classes held by top zen masters – a moment of quiet during the bustling festival was needed!
It was great to catch up with some of our lovely makers. We got a sneak peek at some new pieces from Yoguh, and it was lovely to see Victoria as always. Christina from Free Spirit was also at The Balance Festival selling her gorgeous tanks. We loved how she styled her stand, with the bamboo backdrop nodding to the sustainable bamboo cotton she uses in her tanks. Alongside Christina was Adriana from Phantai with her mandala yoga mats (not forgetting her new addition to the Phantai team, her gorgeous baby!)
After a fun, jam-packed day at The Balance Festival, we left feeling inspired and fuelled with new ideas to achieve our best self. We’ll certainly be back next year!
