Sunday Love Letter Vol.3
by ANNA CHALLACOMBE
How’s your day been so far?
I woke up this morning, sun streaming through the windows…
Lying there soaking up the blissful golden rays, it suddenly struck me that I have rather a lot to do this week!
In one quick moment, I transformed my experience from one of bliss to one of worry…
It made me wonder; ‘How many times I actually do that in a day… in a week… in a year?’
What about you?
How many times do you let the thoughts in your mind impose themselves upon a beautiful moment and take it from you?
Then this quote from Robin Shama popped into my head:
‘The mind is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master.’
So I decided to get present and consciously create my own blissful experience!
*I grabbed my mat and did 10 minutes yoga in the beautiful morning rays.
After connecting with my body through yoga, I felt centered and calm.
*Next, I sat down and wrote a plan that allowed me to achieve everything I need to get done (dumping a few things that could wait along the way) 😉
Why This Works
Getting your worries out of your head and onto paper activates the pre-frontal cortex (the part of your brain which is great at planning and problem solving), then solutions start to appear as if by magic…
It’s a great technique that I learned when I was training to be a health coach, so I thought I’d share it with you, too.
Now, I’m off out to enjoy the day with my kids, free of the pressures that were cluttering my mind.
Wishing you many consciously created moments of bliss,
